In August 2023, Dr. Alejandro-White joined UT Southwestern Medical Center as a Nurse Scientist and the Interim Assistant Director of Care Coordination at Community Hospital of Monterey Peninsula, through AMN Healthcare Interim Solutions. He previously served as Interim Director of Care Coordination at Seattle Children's Hospital. He currently serves as a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army Reserves. His previous roles include Nurse Scientist at UT Southwestern Medical Center and Chief Nurse Executive at the Edward J. Hines, Jr. Veterans Administration Health System in Chicago.

Dr. Alejandro-White is a national Past President of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses and the Case Management Society of America. He serves as Treasurer for the American Association of Men in Nursing and previously served as Treasurer for Sigma. Dr. Alejandro-White is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

He is a Sigma Fellow and Virginia Henderson Fellow for his Philanthropic efforts to support global research. Dr. Alejandro-White was awarded the AAMN Luther Chrisman Lifetime Achievement, NAHN Latino Legacy Award (Lifetime) and CMSA's Case Manager of the Year in 2015.
